I'm not really one for taking landscape photographs, though I do love landscapes.  I simply don't have the patience to spend hours carrying around tripods, filters, lens and the like, not to mention the waiting. I'm more of a 'shoot from the hip' kind of guy. However, the past weekend presented an opportunity to go to a beautiful local park with my family. Well, the news is finally out. After the pomp and ceremony, Leica has announced a few new goodies that have left most aficionados scratching their heads. The highlights are: • Leica M Monochrom – a B&W only version of the M9 / P • Leica M9-P Edition Hermes • Leica APO – Summicron-M 1:2/50mm ASPH • Leica X2 • Leica V-LUX 40 Most will focus on the Monochrom and the Summicron, and the eye watering prices attached to them; approx £5,400 and £4,900 respectively. Tomorrow is May 10th and with it Leica are holding a two day "by invitation only" exhibition in Berlin. The great news is that there will be a “whole range of product launches”. If you follow Leica, you will no doubt be aware of the almost fever pitch like speculation of what they are going to announce.
